This is the 4th winter that I have been following the Sakers and Peregrines coming to my hometown Debrecen to hunt for pigeons. By photos I could distinguish 7 different Sakers in the previous season. So far I have seen 3 of them this winter.
On Dec. 28 finally I had some time to spend on my favorite rooftop hoping to see and photograph a Saker up-close. Despite the cold (-9C) and the overcast sky with the help of the reflecting snowcover I could take some pictures of an adult female passing by. These pictures can be seen in the Saker gallery.
I hope soon I will be able to watch and shoot them with the sun out.
I wish all our visitors Happy New Year and similar breathtaking experiences!
